I created a simple snippet but what I find is once I create the snippet and hit enter my cursor goes back to the start or my snippet.

When I use a MS snippet and hit enter it goes to the next line. How can I do that with my snippets?

In the snippet editor if you right click you will see an option called something like "Insert $end$ marker".  This will tell VS where to place the cursor after the snippet is inserted.
