Creating A New Code Snippet

The following describes how to create a new snippet file from scratch using the Snippet Designer

  • Open up the new file dialog
New File

  • Select the Code Snippet
Snippet File
  • This will open up a blank snippet editor
Blank Editor
  • Enter the code which you would like to become your snippet
Raw Snippet
  • Right click on the variables/symbols you would like to be replacements and choose make replacement
Make Replacement Before
  • Afterwards you will see this
Make Replacement After
  • Repeat this process for all variables/symbols you would like to be replacements
After All Replacements

  • Set your snippet's name and set the shortcut with which you would like to access your snippet
Name And Shortcut

  • Set your snippet's shortcut with which you would like to access your snippet from inside the editor
Name And Shortcut
  • Then Save your snippet and you are done!!

Completely awesome. 1 hour of trying to figure it out myself and 5 minutes of getting yours installed and working.
